Welcome

Welcome to TuringBirds, online home of yours truly. This is my little corner of the web. It is mostly pastebin for things that I am working on or that I want to share. This might include all sorts of computer and electronics projects. I have also written a number of papers and tutorials, which you can find in the articles section.

So what's a Turing bird, anyway?

The name of this webpage was conceived while I was being taught how Turing machines work. A Turing machine is a very rudimental abstract computer. I felt that the state diagram of a Turing machine could look quite a bit like a bird, and strangely, my teacher agreed. So here we are. The diagram on the top right of this page is a valid Turing machine specification (although not the full diagram is shown).

You are also welcome to browse the TuringBirds FTP server at ftp://ftp.turingbirds.com. This offers you a selection of scientific and non-scientific books. You are welcome to contribute relevant material in /upload/, but note that the server is moderated. This means that I get to remove anything at any time, and that hopefully no copyrights are violated. If you have any comments, please direct them at ftp@turingbirds.com.
